Day three, Wednesday July 6th

Today started the same as each day prior, a 7am wake up call being announce via a PVC pipe horn that Mark blows through and with Jimmy yelling "Good morning, it's a beautiful day in the Bahamas!" Truth is, Ive come to enjoy it. The reality of it is that I feel blessed to have the opportunity to sleep on this air mattress in a floor so that I can do work that may impact someones eternal life. It is in fact a beautiful morning in the Bahamas.

We had our morning VBS registration and opening ceremonies and then moved on to our three rotations.

For Games, Jordan decided to attempt to teach the first group Extreme Frisbee.

Extreme Frisbee worked out rather well and they seemed to really enjoy it.

(Top)   One of the groups played Red Rover
(Bottom)  Another group played jump the creek. Man these kids could jump!

Arts and crafts had a great time.
The kids enjoyed playing with the glue.

Arts and crafts finished a little early so thy incorporated some song and dance into the activities.

And of course the Bible classes were i full effect. Sometimes the classes were led by the youth and sometimes by an adult. In both cases the kids were very receptive and did a great job being interactive and answering questions, singing and doing interpretive dance.

Quite possible one of the most humbling moments in Bible class was when Miriam and Maggie took the role of servants and washed the feet of the kids in class. Even if the kids in the class got nothing from it (but I know they did) Maggie and Miriam will never forget it.

After closing ceremonies we had lunch, burgers and chips, and then it was on  to construction and evangelism.

This picture is a little out of order but this was our FANTASTIC dinner. Fried chicken, mac/cheese, potato salad and rice.

Everyone enjoyed this meal for sure!

Mark and Ray working in one of the bathrooms replacing ceiling tiles.

Howie working on a door frame again :-)

We tried to tell Howie that the kids knew how to walk, but this is how he insisted on getting them form station to station. lol.

 Lunch line

 Howie found a new friend.

The kids enjoyed some free time when the rain came.

Unfortunately we had to put Carla to work making repairs. Nothing major, just some scrapes.

Later that night we went to the park for a bit to watch the kids play basketball and hang out.

And the day ends with a lightly moon lit sky, HIGH humidity, lots of mosquito's and a room full of very tired mission minded folks. This for sure feels like a long week, but I am also sure that when the day comes for us to return home, we will feel like we just arrived.

God bless

JM
